Helping a new brand balance charm and humor by introducing a playful set of illustrations and enhancing their brands typography with a sophisticated font pairing.

The Untied Tie Club launched their brand with a simple identity, initially utilising classic Google fonts—Montserrat and Poppins. However, these fonts did not capture the playful yet sophisticated essence they sought and they found their brand missing an element to express their quirky tone of voice.

To enhance their startup brand within budget constraints, we developed a suite of playful illustrations, by characterising the owner — Andrew, surfacing his personality through a light-hearted character that resonated with his audience. These charming and humorous visuals were applied across the website, thank-you cards, and ongoing brand collateral.

Complementing the illustrations, a new typography set was added, featuring a serif font for headings and a sans-serif font for body text. The fonts strike a balance between sophistication and charisma, appearing uniform and consistent as a pair due to their similar letter anatomies.
